This summer we spent a few days in Lebanon meeting with our coordinator, Stan, who could not come to Syria. Widad came with us, as she did last year, and Rima, the president of our community, accompanied us too. These were days of vacation and relaxation, of course (we went to the sea twice), but also days of reflection, because we had to develop the community’s mandate for the years to

come. No one was surprised that Ghada was appointed to another four-year term as community leader. We also took advantage of this trip to make a pilgrimage to Mar Charbel, the Lebanese monk who lived in poverty as a hermit during the 19th century (1828-1898). He was beatified by Pope Paul VI in 1977.
